A decent quantity of Liverock is essential for natural filtration


My overflow weir is filled with sponges which filter out larger particles, these need cleaning at monthly intervals.

The Tunze Stream pumps are mainly for circulation & surface agitation but they do help to keep some debris in suspension where it can be removed more easily by the overflow.


My Deltec 5250 Interval pump fitted on a closed loop, again for circulation. The outlet is split so half goes through a rear 'reef-flushing' system at the back of the tank under the reef, the other half goes back through a normal outlet.
